Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) mimics an elementary function of our brain. Muscle contractions are usually induced by electrical impulses initiated by the brain. However, EMS technology simulates these impulses from outside of the body. The current is generated by an external power source. Using conductive material the current is transferred to the muscles, causing it to contract.
